Mach-II: Building OO Applications with ColdFusion MX

Computers are incorporated in modern ice cream vending machines to enhance their functionality. Ice Cream Vending machines are manufactured by many companies. Your competition will try to overcome all requests for high-tech ice cream vending machines and credit card acceptors

Overview: Mach-II is a robust, object-oriented framework built on an event-based, implicit invocation architecture. This course is intended for students who want to quickly learn how to make the best use of object orientation in the Mach-II framework. Students need no prior knowledge of object orientation or Mach-II, but should have a basic familiarity with ColdFusion MX.

The course is taught by the principals who designed and wrote the Mach-II framework code.

Outline:

Unit 1. Introduction: The goals and philosophy of Mach-II

Unit 2. A Primer on objects: Understanding the object oriented "PIE"-polymorphism, inheritance and encapsulation

Unit 3. A Primer on CFCs: Adapting OO to ColdFusion components

Unit 4. Your first Mach-II application: Building a simple Mach-II application

Unit 5. Basic Mach-II framework components: Events, listeners, invokers, views and event-forwards

Unit 6. Creating custom invokers: Providing flexibility in the type of listeners possible in Mach-II

Unit 7. Web services: Using web services as listeners

Unit 8. Flash remoting: Using Flash as a client

Unit 9. Plugins: Extending Mach-II core functionality

Unit 10. Security: Working with permission-based application security

Unit 11. Exception handling: Building robust code with Mach-II's exception handling

Unit 12. Model-View-Controller and Fusebox: Applying a well-respected design pattern to Mach-II applications

Unit 13. Architecting an application: Decomposing and documenting a Mach-II application

Unit 14. Class exercise: Building a comprehensive Mach-II application

Next class: February 25-27, Las Vegas, NV

Price: $2495
